The SOSU Survival Guide: 100 Must-Know Danish Phrases for Healthcare

We made a guide to help you learn the phrases you need to know when you work in healthcare. This guide is for nurses and SOSU assistants who work in Denmark. It tells you what to do when a patient is admitted to the hospital and how to check their signs. The guide also talks about how to figure out if a patient's, in pain using something called the VAS scale. Additionally it covers how to take care of wounds. The guide has audio to help you say words correctly and videos that show you what to do so you can talk to people at the hospital with confidence.

It can be very hard to work in a hospital if you are not from Denmark. Even if you are a nurse it can be tough to understand the way things are done in Denmark.

Why Learning Danish is Important for SOSU

In Denmark we think it is very important to treat patients and to make them feel safe. When you can talk to patients in their language they feel better and it is safer, for them. You can explain what you are going to do and ask them how they are feeling.
